Yogyakarta, hari kedua. Kami mengunjungi kampus UGM.
For this week EF Challenge with topic Alter Ego, I wrote a fiction which you are able to read the original post here. This week also I volunteer that my post to be reviewed. I’m really happy I ask to be volunteer for this week :D
There were so many correction during the review from Mbak Yo as mentor. Most of them were related with tenses. I got new knowledge today that telling story in English ALWAYS be in Past Tense. I think I missed this during the learning session. :D
One more thing that I learned today is in correct grammar, always write in complete Subject + Verb + Object. When I wrote in Indonesian language, I often not add the Subject in the sentence. I bring that habit when I write in English. :D
Oh, one more thing (again), proof read is important. I got this suggestion both when I wrote in Indonesian languange and English. Unfortunately, I didn’t do the proofread for this time :(
So, to record the review, I corrected my post as per below. The corrections are in red.
“Why you killed Mom and Dad, Jim?” Anna asked. Her voice breaks, sound as she almost cry.
Anna is a beautiful woman with big brown eyes which oftenly express worry. She is 30 years old and has good career as an architect.
“You know that I only want to protect you, Anna,” Jim replied her. “If I didn’t do anything, now you will have married with a man whom you never love. A man who Mom and Dad want you to marry with, without considering your happiness.”
Jim is a 24 years old man. He doesn’t like to be an architect but he really likes to draw scetches. He likes to try something new. His brown eyes express his spirit of life.
Hai, Admins, I hope it is OK to post this week EF on Saturday… :D
I work at a Foreign Investment Company, which my directors are Singaporean, so basically I use English everyday to talk to them or to write emails to them. Although foreigners, my directors are not strictly using grammatical English. The most important thing is they understand what we say. I admit that I rarely write or talk in correct grammar with them. Especially you know that as Singaporean, my directors has a typical English which we usually call as SingLish (Singaporean English).
When I found out about BEC at Mas Ryan’s blog, I didn’t hesitate to join this group. I want to improve my knowledge and skill about grammar again. This Club open a big opportunity for me to improve my grammar.
Since I joined with BEC, I start to write blog in English again. The last time I wrote in English was when I wrote this post. Since then, except for work, I rarely use English.
Setelah kulihat-lihat isi blogku, ternyata aku mengenalmu ketika kamu masih berusia beberapa bulan. Prompt pertama yang kuikuti adalah Prompt #30 Sang Mantan. Entah kenapa, sampai saat ini, tulisan di prompt itu termasuk salah satu tulisan yang mostly viewed. Banyak yang tidak bisa move on ternyata ya…. :D
Awal-awal berteman denganmu, aku sempat minder. Banyak orang-orang keren yang berada di sekitarmu. Tulisan-tulisan mereka bagus. Aku sempat menjauh, selain karena itu, juga karena ada hal pribadi lainnya. Jadinya, aku melewatkan ulang tahunmu yang pertama dan juga keseruan MFF Idol 1. Maafkan aku ya…. :(
